Paula Camacho

Paula Camacho is a Colombian-born artist based in Orlando, Florida. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in the Fall of 2019 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and a minor in Digital Design. For the last 3 years, Paula has been delving deep into psychology as well as philosophical literature, and even ventures to conduct her own experiential research with various exercises and methods in order to gain a more direct knowledge of the nature and mechanisms of consciousness. She is interested in investigating nature as a gateway to the sacred and seeks to achieve eutierria through her artwork. Her pieces are constructed spaces that seek to illuminate Taoist principles present in the natural world. Interpreted through the lens of Jungian philosophy, her work meditates on the understanding that the external and internal landscapes reflect one another, thus revealing not only the inherent oneness of their dual nature, but also the dual qualities of her own psyche. A deep reverence for nature’s complex, entropic perfection is the animist intensity that is integral to her process.

Paula’s work has been featured in multiple publications such as New Southern Fugitives: Vol. 3 Issue 5, Fearsome Critters: Volume 3, Genre: Urban Arts Femme Literati Mixtape No. 2 – A Collection of Black & Brown Female Artists and Writers, and Collision Literary Magazine.
