Mike Perez used to be a ballet and modern dancer more than one hip replacement ago. They earned an MFA in poetry from The University of Houston and taught all over tarnation before landing at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as an instructor of humanities, composition, and the occasional “snuck into the syllabus” poem from Frank O’Hara, Ntozake Shange, or David Bottoms. Their poems have been published recently in Oscilloscope Lit Mag, Beyond Queer Words, The Bangalore Review, GLASS Poetry Journal, and The Journal of Florida Studies. Right now they can’t do without listening to a Prince tune at least once a day.
