Malkah Schack

Malkah Schack is a religious Jew living in Brooklyn. She is a recent graduate of Brooklyn College and holds a degree in history. She is very passionate about military history and is interested in the fictionalization of war in novels, poems, and other works of literature. Malkah attributes part of her love of history to her grandfather who is a big history buff and is always willing to have a chat about the past. She has taught history at several institutions over the past five years to both middle-schoolers and high-schoolers and enjoys sharing her love of learning and exploring across the spectrum of time.

Malkah enjoys a variety of hobbies such as hiking, camping, reading, historical sewing, collecting vintage clothing, and traveling. One of her most recent historical sewing projects was a recreation of a wealthy Jewish woman’s set of garments circa 1100 CE. Her reading habits extend from fiction and non-fiction to manga and poetry and she is always willing to have a conversation about books. Malkah has been writing stories and poems since she was a child and has always valued the small interactions between people that can create large stories. Currently, Malkah lives with her family, a dog, and three cats. This is her first publication.
