James King

James King is a writer, poet, and current Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Stonefence Review. A lifelong resident of the green hills of southern New Hampshire, James is a senior at Dartmouth College, from which he received the 2020 Academy of American Poets Prize (his poem, “Our Respective Squares,” is currently live on the Academy of American Poets website). Having held an eclectic mix of jobs– including amusement ride operator, radio DJ, and virtual tutor– James has decided to move the focus back to his love of poetry. A musician as well as a poet, James’ creative work focuses on evoking the music out of small moments, both joyful and melancholy. His work has appeared in The Foundationalist, Paperbark Literary Magazine, and Humana Obscura. When he is not writing or studying, James can often be found reading science fiction novels or practicing electric bass. You can find him on Instagram under @jamn_king.
